Description:
A northbound baretables train passes through the high desert of the Modoc Plateau. It is between Tionesta and Mammoth, which was named for Mammoth Crater, an extinct volcano that created the Lava tube caves (among other features) that dot the landscape. The train is currently passing over part of what used to be Mammoth cave before Great Northern blasted the section under the right of way.
